Imagine watching disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow or 2012 and thinking that the apocalyptic weather scenes were the “unrealistic” part.
Turns out those scenes were almost bang on.
The unrealistic part was the humans working together to overcome the problem & save the world. Sigh.
lots of devastation and negativity on the feed today.
i know this won’t solve anything, but maybe it’ll make someone smile and just forget for a small moment.

The devastation in California is apocalyptic. The images are heartbreaking.
At least 5 fires continue to burn without containment.
I’m grateful for the bravery of not only the first responders, but every day people who have been helping others, including animals, evacuate to safer locations.
ABC, NBC & CBS dedicated about 16 minutes of airtime last night to the California wildfires without once mentioning climate change.
Since the news failed do it's job, here's a short summary of the role of climate change and wildfire risk:

i’m kind of amazed at how this is just the crudest, most obvious n****rbaiting you can imagine. “the people you don’t like, yeah, they are responsible for everything bad.” and it works!
Simon & Garfunkel, the legendary folk-rock duo, captivated the 1960s with hits like "The Sound of Silence" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Their poetic lyrics and harmonies defined an era. Despite tensions and a short career, their music remains timeless and deeply influential.

Somehow the more streaming services you've got the less there is to watch.
World may be headed Hellwise in a handbasket but I’m at the Petersham Bowlo watching The Burning Hell and live music in a venue packed with actual people is a marvellous and magnificent thing
Hard to process the devastation I’ve witnessed in the last two days. Still in a state of shock for those who have lost so much in such a short period of time. 💔

Getting increasingly irritated by publications without BlueSky as a sharing option, especially if X is there. I'm trying to promote your article on a site that actually allows people to see it. Help me help you man.
I strongly suspect that Liz Truss's attempts to stop people claiming she crashed the economy, will only result in her being hounded to the end of her long days with people telling her she crashed the economy.
Rock songs in the 70s were like "She's a dangerous woman, she'll play you like a fiddle, she'll steal your heart and ruin your life. She's 16."

Former President Jimmy Carter was a wonderful person.
A lady walked into a restaurant where he and his family were eating.
There wasn’t anymore tables. The lady was going to leave.
Jimmy Carter invited her to sit down at their table to eat and she did.
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
