I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 8. We didn’t have a coffee maker. Everyone else drank tea. I drank instant coffee & loved it. Drank it non-stop. Years later, my mom had half a cup, got wired & was like “you’ve been doing this every day?!?” Coffee was only for special occasions after that.
My favorite part of Zuckerberg's Joe Rogan interview is when he suggests there is not enough masculine energy at his company, where two out of every three employees is a man.
Comedian, commentator and all around good guy, Christopher Titus has had a belly full of Zuck and is focusing on moving his community of followers here. Let's give them a warm welcome and follow shall we?
Los Angeles fire updates: • Death toll now up to 24 • Others are reported missing • 29 arrested, including a man dressed like a firefighter that the authorities say was burglarizing a home • Forecasters see "extreme" fire conditions returning in the next couple days www.nytimes.com/live/2025/01...
I love with the ACA has done for people with pre-existing conditions. But. Let's face reality, ACA 2013 was a different world. Since then Insurance Companies have learned how to game the system. For the subsidized silver/94 and /87 plans, around ~15 % of taxpayer $ stays with ins comps!
all millenieals, gen x, and boomers are "From Reddit ". I have a funny image which proves this
I am 30 or 40 years old and about to watch a two hour movie at the cinema that will end past midnight. I am so brave.
I think I'd rather be added to a list called "vile ugly monsters who are always wrong and stupid" than the list I was just added to, which was called simply "ok."
I've been trying to understand why I feel the particular flavor of distressed that I do right now. I think it's because we can no longer discuss the lessons we should be learning from any kind of disaster without the worst chucklefucks coming out of the woodwork to wreck everything.
This is a snowblower post. I sure wish I’d had a snowblower this week. But I don’t really have a place to store a snowblower. And a snowblower good enough to justify having a snowblower costs a lot more than a snowblower does. Thanks for visiting my snowblower post.
As officials try to determine the cause of a fire that burned an estimated 7,000 structures in and around Altadena, investigators keep returning to one place: an electrical transmission tower in Eaton Canyon. Read the full story: www.latimes.com/california/s...
just watched sesame street with my son. i don’t know. it’s not like i’m too good for it, it’s just that i know most of this stuff already. like, i work in journalism. i know 23 letters of the alphabet and i’m confident i’ll learn the rest over the course of my work. i don’t need a tv show for that
i moved my Christmas tree. two feet in the air, I realized the tree is actually two pieces and the bottom had fallen off. i shifted the top part to my right hand, when suddenly I realized that the tree in fact is composed of three pieces. while trying to reattach them, guess what I remembered
Schiff: "I've been in Congress a long time approving aid after disasters. I never once even considered 'is this hurricane hitting a red or blue state?' ... we need the incoming president to view it that way."
Put new bookshelves into our spare room and it made a world of difference. This is all of our graphic novels, zines, fiction and nonfiction. My home office also has multiple bookcases of film books.
Saw an interesting post here in my feed, but I didn't have time to read it right away and thought "well I'm never going to find THAT again, am I?" And then I remembered, and it brought a little tear to my eye: chronological posts. It's the little things. 🥲
This is what you need to eat if you want to become a better gamer.
Been in L.A. for two years and I still miss New York, but I will admit that when someone in L.A. says they had a magical experience it’s like locking eyes with a coyote under a full moon and when someone in New York says it they mean they witnessed a guy dressed as Ant-Man get kicked by a cop horse.
I guess that's one way to monetize

Our first cable box not only had a dial to go from channel to channel, but also a vertical thumb wheel next to the dial to help adjust the signal. Many Gen X kids used the wheel to try to unscramble the picture on the channels their parents didn't pay for.
what’s your favorite instance of haptic nostalgia—the poignant memory of the physicality of an obsolete thing—like dialing a rotary phone, shifting gears in a manual transmission, opening a soda can with a pull ring?
Shout out to anyone else just taking down their Christmas stuff today. Hey, if the tree dumps all its needles where it stands, it’s going to be lighter when you haul it to the curb!
A sad length of tinsel garland lies dead on the floor next to a scattering of dry pine needles, both drained of their holiday magic. The corner of a Persian rug pokes into frame, only to regret it.

I love this man. Not only is he one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, but he’s an incredibly talented and inspiring filmmaker and truly a wonderful human being, too. I know there are many of these—too many—but please considering helping Josh & Lauren and anywhere you can.
Always the cleanup crew. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you define masculinity as the traits unique to men, you're gonna have a bad time, because there 1) aren't many of those and 2) the ones that do exist, like particular kinds of physical strength, aren't particularly useful in today's world. Plus then women's empowerment seems like encroachment
