I heard my friend Dan here give a remarkable brief talk about this last month. Thankfully, he’s written it up at length to share.
In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…
NEW: Google used to warn you when you were seeing low-quality search results. Then, in the weeks leading up to the 2024 election, the company quietly turned that warning off www.platformer.news/google-data-...

Contrary to the Internet (which usually is never wrong), I am NOT writing for Mike Flanagan's DARK TOWER.

I'm gonna remind people that I feel pretty strongly that if you bought one of my ebooks legitimately, then you own the book and however you secure that ownership is fine by me

One nice thing about foraging compared to other hobbies is that no one spends $10,000 on stuff for it
A British-Egyptian team has made one of the most significant Egyptian archeological finds in recent history: the tomb of pharaoh King Thutmose II, who ruled sometime between 2000 and 1001 BCE. This is the first tomb of a pharaoh unearthed since Tutankhamun’s in 1922.

Mayor Adams shares lie that USAID is funding news sites (the government pays for subscriptions, just like the mayor) when I asked about resignations from high-ranking prosecutors in protest of request for his case to be dropped.
I asked for examples and he couldn't provide any.
This fact is not to be shared outside this room.

Need recs for some great (fairly linear) single player campaigns. Love Uncharted, Indiana Jones, God of War, DMC, Dishonored, Spiderman, Control, Horizon, Alan Wake, Stellar Blade, Dead Space, Space Marine 2. Looking for shooters, adventures, hack n slash, anything that isn't overly RPG.
Fountain-pen friends: I just got my first new fountain pen in years, and I love it! But I'm also remembering that using a fountain pen means having to adjust the paper/pads I use to account for different levels of ink absorption. Any advice on that process, or is it just a matter of trial and error?
