it is genuinely incredible that all you have to do is scratch the surface and it becomes clear that each of these guys is a huge piece of shit
Incredible: Russ Vought’s daughter has cystic fibrosis and benefits from a “miracle drug” made possible by the National Institutes of Health—an agency Vought now aims to gut as part of the Project 2025 attack www.motherjones.com/politics/202... It’s fun starting a new hobby with ADHD because I never know if I’ve found a new lifelong passion or if I’m going to spend $2000 on stuff and immediately lose all interest
Dear everyone who rolls up in my comments when I’m talking about something that is not The Current Chaos, berating me that There Are More Important Things to Be Thinking About, please, and I say this with love, fuck all the way off into the sun, I will do as I please, unfollow me if it bothers you.

I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society).
We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it.
This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.
i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.
i mean, the president's executive order isn't a goddamn law! as far as this doctor is concerned, who cares what the president says!
oh no do tariffs cause inflation?
"Unexpectedly" is actually not an accurate descriptor of polices historically know to .... raise inflation
Why would you make your narrator unreliable. I trusted you and purchased this book and this is how you repay me
This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!
Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)
A (mostly) positive thing I can say the tech industry did was coalesce around USB-PD
It's pretty great that when I travel my laptop charger charges all my things! That's often the only charger I bring, plus a cable to charge my phone from my laptop if need be.
Buying cables is a nightmare tho...

Had a blast doing the live read of CONCLAVE last night but I don’t know why they didn’t use the second cast photo on their website.

The Small Business Administration sent employees a letter saying that they had been fired.
Then it sent them an email saying that the email was a mistake.
Then it sent some of them another email saying actually they were fired

There's a tendency to see things as Red Team or Blue Team these days, for good reason. But this is just... extremely odd.
To my knowledge, nothing like this has ever happened before in Congress.
