Although the latest OpenSSH RCE PoC (CVE-2024-6387, aka "regreSSHion") hasn't yet been proven to work on 64-bit systems, perhaps the next one will. The OpenSSH server component in the latest ESXi 7.0 version is still OpenSSH_8.8p1 and in ESXi 8.0 it was until recently OpenSSH_9.0p1.
