This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

I haven't tested it, but it *should* theoretically work, since you can name the generated chunks, and knitr should keep track of caching details based on those names if you include `cache: true` there too
