It took me way too long to recognize this asymmetry, but it can be chalked up to the natural order of capitalism. The capitalists are averse to the idea of equity achieved by way of the state. Socialism for me, rugged individualism for thee. They’re ok w/ fascism if their wealth remains untouched.
