This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

We did it like this because bundling them together was causing all kinds of desync/death/etc issues. They're simply separate processes. The app server manages everything, channels is optimized for catching and relaying messages to the app server.
