This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

Good writeup! I love these games, and I hope this inspires some people to try them out.
(Minor note: Blue Chicago Blues *did* get an official English release, on Laseractive. IIRC at least some of the elements in the fan translation are sourced from that version.)
