Source on Jackson Merrill’s extension: each time he gets to 500 plate appearances in a season, he adds $1MM to his future salaries for the 2030-2034 seasons. That means hitting the threshold could add as much as $5MM in future earnings. In total, $30MM can be unlocked via plate appearance escalators
