I have a small pond, this time of year there's a bear in it daily. They just sit like this for a while. This is also about something called parallel play; being physically close to someone but each doing your own thing. It's one of my favorite ways to be with loved ones. <3

1 year ago, Hurricane Helene tore through Asheville, taking 108 lives and flooding homes, businesses, and the Marquee gallery under 16 feet of water. Last night, the rebuilt Marquee reopened, and it felt like all of Asheville showed up! A great new beginning for a resilient creative community ❤️

Personal Growth ~ This was inspired by the people I met at my mother's senior community. Every one of them had reinvented themselves many times over. New careers, new hobbies. It's important we foster growth even in our later years, and remember we're never too old for new ideas.
