This is the OFFICIAL World Goth Day account and a safe space for the worldwide goth community. World Goth Day is the 22nd of May every year. Official website: www.worldgothday.comhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.socialhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mweih564z22nFor me it's 'Double Dare' by Bauhaus.25 Sep 2026 19:19 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mweih564z22nhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mu5bsexxc22mWhile it was quiet, the website got a much needed update this week. Since it's purely an info site, most of the old images were scrapped & the content arranged in a way that's much crisper, clearer & also phone friendly. Granted, it's more Wordpress than Killstar, but it's readable now!28 Aug 2026 11:41 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mu5bsexxc22mhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mtzanjhij22o*sigh* is anyone else just going to put their phone on Do Not Disturb & watch '9 to 5' & 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' back to back this week? 😕26 Aug 2026 21:10 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mtzanjhij22ohttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mtjbambabc2nGoth in a nutshell, courtesy of Stephen Archer (Ego Likeness):20 Aug 2026 12:38 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mtjbambabc2nhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mso2z4ab5225Every now & then the past will surprise me with a band I'd have absolutely loved if I'd heard of them. DARK ORANGE was a German band from the early '90s whose sound was a blend of All About Eve and Cocteau Twins. Whatever you think I believe it was an important record in the formation of our wonderful scene.06 Aug 2026 07:56 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3msfkwdppns2phttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mqobnvlurs2kIf you've seen this movie several times we can probably be friends.15 Jul 2026 08:13 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mqobnvlurs2khttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mpjllx4kn22lAs Pride Month draws to an end, a small reminder that the scene was always queer from the start.30 Jun 2026 18:03 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mpjllx4kn22lhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mmtdy4hx2s2gBig 69th birthday shout out to Susan Ballion from Southwark, UK. If you're out there organising a WGD event year after year like an unstoppable final boss, we love you. You're inspiring others to get up and do the same. Just look at us all. Getting up and doing goth community stuff. Damn.20 May 2026 21:46 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mmcuwqpiu22jhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mlwc7gghqc2tFinally. I've been meaning to get this done on the World Goth Day website homepage for a couple of days. Please help out our martin if you can. If you can't, then share the link below and hopefully someone who can will see it. Cheers. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-martin-prevent-a-liver-transpant15 May 2026 21:39 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mlwc7gghqc2thttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mltmue5z6c2jThis is possibly the most goth thing I've seen on the internet all week.14 May 2026 20:11 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mltmue5z6c2jhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mllup5zdq22sJust did a quick count. We currently have a grand total of 123 confirmed World Goth Day events. That number will go up as we get closer to the day itself. Thank you to all of the promoters & event organisers who take up the baton for this year after year. The Goth community is a bit amazing, right?11 May 2026 18:10 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mllup5zdq22shttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mlitm27kic2oThe man, myth & absolute legend that is World Goth Day co-founder Martin Oldgoth has started up a GoFundMe page, please consider helping him out. gofund.me/7a9406d1a https://gofund.me/7a9406d1a10 May 2026 13:13 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mlitm27kic2ohttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3ml4w6ulhec2nIt appears Facebook adjusts the event date to show the date relative to us in the UK. That means we might see an event on the 23rd May, even though it's actually on the 24th in that country. If you're an event organiser and see a wrong date for your event on our website, let us know!05 May 2026 19:27 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3ml4w6ulhec2nhttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mkzjl4xpxk2sI've added probably another 10 or 15 WGD events to the website since last night - we've gone way past the 100+ count. So if all that talk about us goths being 'harbingers of doom' is anything to go by, then 2026 looks pretty f#cked for us all. But at least the music will be really good again.04 May 2026 11:03 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mkzjl4xpxk2shttps://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mkxxo6pvps27We're pleased to announce that the World Goth Day website has now been updated with an unprecented number of announced events already. Well over 90 in-person and online events are now listed, and this is likely to increase as the days go by. Thank you to all the organisers in this worldwide scene!03 May 2026 20:10 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mkxxo6pvps27https://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mkss464dic25Please give our co-founder's new track a consideration for Bandcamp Friday, he's ever so proud of it, bless him. 😉 [contains quote post or other embedded content]01 May 2026 18:47 +0000at://did:plc:4pbygwv3ftbddbnfgn747e22/app.bsky.feed.post/3mkss464dic25https://bsky.app/profile/worldgothday.bsky.social/post/3mkdmx6ctcc2cWe all know a street like this.
