Sharing my discovery of old and new movies, with an appreciation for all types. Cinema is a form of documented history, it captures a moment in time beyond just a storyline. Fashion, dialog, casting, etc…I hope you find something you want to watch! 🚫AIhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.socialhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzo5ecisc22fStone Pillow (1985, Drama) Unlike her comedy roles, this is raw, and gritty, filmed like a documentary at times. The life of a baglady through the 80s lens. Illness, job loss, spouse loss, domestic abuse, natural disaster, eviction, aging out of foster-care, many homeless have a story like this. 📽️🎬06 Nov 2026 19:43 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzo5ecisc22fhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mznsaxo6ts2jFight Boy (2023, Indie Action Comedy) Simple, to the point, great message. Bullied at a young age, when an old video makes it to his son, he challenges each of his 5 bullies to a legal fight (TX). Touches on trauma, growth, and acceptance. Understanding the past has no hold on your present. 🎬 📽️06 Nov 2026 16:25 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mznsaxo6ts2jhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzni4yllak2qHeart and Souls (1993, Comedy Fantasy) Such a sweet movie, 4 people die in a bus accident, their souls bind to a newborn who sees them. When the kid is labeled weird, the ghosts go away so he can be normal. When he gets older, they reappear so he can help them resolve their issues before they go.📽️🎬06 Nov 2026 13:23 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzni4yllak2qhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzlvlvaqtc2bDead-End Job (2026, Horror Fantasy Dark Comedy, Korean series, English dub) Wasn’t sure what to expect, took 2 episodes to get, but I kept watching. Overall message is what would you do for money, to not be poor. Accumulating debt makes you desperate, more-so when it involves your missing dad. 🎬 📽️05 Nov 2026 22:19 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzlvlvaqtc2bhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzlrihhgec2bCrystal Lake (2026, Slasher) I loved this backstory, better than the “demon” storyline. Draws your empathy in toward the characters, who have always been the bad guys, the 2nd half really dives in. Does have gore, but I would expect it here. Also loving Linda Cardellini in these darker roles. 📽️ 🎬05 Nov 2026 21:06 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzlrihhgec2bhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzlquz4izc2bDeathtrap (1982, Thriller Mystery) A true who done it, lots of twists and turns, a play turned movie, with some chuckles. Who is after who, what are the motives, how will it end…my only gripe was the very last few mins were a hard cut and had to google for clarity. But overall great. 🎬 📽️ 📼05 Nov 2026 20:55 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzlquz4izc2bhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzlqba7jcs2bHome Delivery (2025, Comedy Drama) I was not expecting this to hit the feels for a Comedy. For people struggling with infertility, you are seen here. Great balance of humor and reality. Life doesn’t always go as planned. Loved the cast. 📽️ 🎬05 Nov 2026 20:44 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzlqba7jcs2bhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzjiw6svtc2f9½ Weeks (1986, Erotic Romance) A story about control, submission and dominance, but told from the 80s lens. Though there are many positive experiences in this space, where would you personally draw the line, when does it become unhealthy for you? Some never want to lose their independence. 🎬 📽️ 📼04 Nov 2026 23:27 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzjiw6svtc2fhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzivt7rcgs2oRuthless People (1986, Comedy Crime) What happens when your wife is kidnapped for ransom, but you don’t want her back? Use the time handcuffed in someone’s basement to workout of course. Totally 80s, great movie, Midler was perfect for the part. 📽️ 🎬 📼04 Nov 2026 17:45 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzivt7rcgs2ohttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzihcbeg2s2yHesher (2010, Drama) Loved this. Reminds you how fragile a child’s mind is, and to acknowledge the things you have and not focus on the things you don’t have. At first you think it’s going to be a story about this jerk guy, but really picks up and goes deep. 🎬 📽️04 Nov 2026 13:25 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzihcbeg2s2yhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzfozysr722aGo (1999, Crime Comedy) If you step away for a few minutes you will get lost in the story, girl approached for drugs, takes opportunity to make money, doesn’t go as planed, story is shown in sections from different character views, to come together at the end. 📽️ 🎬 📼03 Nov 2026 11:06 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzfozysr722ahttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzeszhwj6k2cWhat Muppet are you. Older woman who cared for her ill mom tries to find what life is at her age after her mom passes. She develops a crush for a young guy at work, exploring her wishful alternate realities playing out. 🎬 📽️02 Nov 2026 22:43 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzefkt2a6k2rhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzeeodxhzs2rThe Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud (2020, Action Comedy) This has a cheese style meant to convey the video game feel as a comedy. Girl finds herself in her 90s video game as a character, her friend at the controller, they must finish the game to get out. Felt like a B movie but was ok. 📽️ 🎬02 Nov 2026 22:28 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzeeodxhzs2rhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzc3uq3pgk2hMr. Toad’s Wild Ride (1996, Fam Adventure Comedy) British live-action of The Wind in the Willows, was dropped in US theaters, saved by Disney who renamed it after their park ride. Mr. Toad gets into trouble with the Weasel’s, from his love of cars, and goes to prison, but not for long. 🎬 📽️ 📀02 Nov 2026 00:45 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzc3uq3pgk2hhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mzbzgjq2js2hCamp Nowhere (1994, Family Comedy) Loved this one, kids who don’t want to go to the specialized camp their parents want, pay an adult to lie and take money from parents, then go to their own camp and do what they want, has 90s tropes, still holds up. Jessica Alba’s debut as background.📽️ 🎬 📀02 Nov 2026 00:01 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mzbzgjq2js2hhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz6pymrbgs2rMarried to the Mob (1988, Romantic Crime) Comedy label doesn’t quite fit, just implies a less intense crime drama. Mob wife wants out, doesn’t love her husband anymore, finds herself being pursued by both the mob boss and FBI, only to find the real love she was looking for. Great cast. 🎬 📽️ 📼31 Oct 2026 16:34 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mz6pymrbgs2rhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz6m67c5as2rHeart Condition (1990, Action Comedy) Denzel brings class. Internet says he insisted on hard script edits and removing stereotypes, changing history where years before it wouldn’t have happened. The way it’s told you can easily see it was set up for the stereotypical pimp role. 👍 The dildo 🤣 📽️ 🎬31 Oct 2026 15:26 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mz6m67c5as2rhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz6edgcq722aThe Hole (2009, Horror Fantasy) Not great, not terrible, moments of good, but I can’t get over how chill the kids were at the start…when the kid almost drowns and he says its the clown, and the older kids, who just saw the creepy basement girl, tell him he’s imagining it, way too calm.🎬 📽️ 📀31 Oct 2026 13:05 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mz6edgcq722ahttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz5ctaex2k23The Haunted Mansion (2003, Family Ghost Horror) Brought back memories, good cast, real estate agent tricked into entering a cursed haunted mansion where a ghost tries to marry his wife because she looks exactly like his dead wife. The family works with the rest of the ghosts to save her. 📽️ 🎬 📀31 Oct 2026 03:06 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mz5ctaex2k23https://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz4scrfr622yThe Invite (2026, Drama) Says comedy, not agreeing, this is a raw gritty look at an aged marriage with some humor. Neighbors visit and eventually lead into partner swapping, but that is a small part, it’s really the vehicle that allows the story to dive deep into the marriage. 🎬 📽️👍30 Oct 2026 22:10 +0000at://did:plc:br5ox5igrgeehbocmedsinlp/app.bsky.feed.post/3mz4scrfr622yhttps://bsky.app/profile/flickfiend.bsky.social/post/3mz2ekf3nns2kBats (1999, Horror Sci-fi) Not groundbreaking, genetically altered smart and aggressive bats escape a facility and start attacking people.
