Only a specific type of test can detect it and usually requires a certain to have already occurred. For now, they will monitor. Surgery and removed a 10 in section of colon. 2 weeks ago, severe pain in that region and 2nd surgery to remove scar tissue. But also found a rare, and somewhat untreatable, cancer on her appendix, which they removed.
