I will admit: data driven gizmos was a little scope creep but I still think they are super useful. #blender #godot #gamedev

https://www.noctua.at/en/3d-cad-models Noctua released CAD models of their fans. The addon now correctly handles materials. I decide which godot materials I want to use on my level geometry and blender will load them. When importing back to Godot, materials will be resolved to original materials. No material duplicates, no pain ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) #godot #gamedev

Solid progress over the weekend. Entities are now imported and properly instantiated in Godot. The import pipeline also creates collision shapes. No more fooling around with name suffixes in blender! #godot #gamedev

Entities now show up as read-only 3D meshes. Those meshes are just godot scenes exported as gltf files. Next step: Write a godot importer to import entities and convert them into actual scene instances to close the loop :) #godot #gamedev

Experimenting with blender addon that lets me import game entities from my #godot project into #blender. This way, I should be able to prototype my levels entirely in blender without constantly alt + tabbing between the two.
