They literally thought I had logged time doing child care.02 Nov 2026 19:59 +0000at://did:plc:gq63kbfct7o7j5flbqmutm6b/app.bsky.feed.post/3mze4elqip22ahttps://bsky.app/profile/millionconcepts.com/post/3myuihty5vs2p"Just as you wouldn’t dump a pile of lumber on the ground and expect skilled carpenters to build a house out of it for free, NASA can’t just acquire commercial data and expect it to contribute to scientific knowledge." --@caseydreier.bsky.social [contains quote post or other embedded content]27 Oct 2026 14:53 +0000at://did:plc:gq63kbfct7o7j5flbqmutm6b/app.bsky.feed.post/3myuihty5vs2phttps://bsky.app/profile/millionconcepts.com/post/3myuihty5vs2p"Just as you wouldn’t dump a pile of lumber on the ground and expect skilled carpenters to build a house out of it for free, NASA can’t just acquire commercial data and expect it to contribute to scientific knowledge." --@caseydreier.bsky.social [contains quote post or other embedded content]27 Oct 2026 14:53 +0000at://did:plc:gq63kbfct7o7j5flbqmutm6b/app.bsky.feed.post/3myuihty5vs2phttps://bsky.app/profile/millionconcepts.com/post/3myudss4bbk2i27 Oct 2026 13:30 +0000at://did:plc:gq63kbfct7o7j5flbqmutm6b/app.bsky.feed.post/3myudss4bbk2ihttps://bsky.app/profile/millionconcepts.com/post/3mysftdaq5c2bAfter the town hall, I remain cautiously optimistic about NASA's "Competition Model 2.0" approach. It will annoy people who have spent a lot of time and resources preparing for the pre-existing AO process. It will still require some assessment of engineering approach on spec. But the current paths are indeed both expensive and slow.
