Early bits for Windows 11's upcoming small taskbar are in build 26300.8346! Here's the widgets button tricked into using its new smaller appearance for the small taskbar (notice the smaller weather icon). It's not much, but it's progress.

Undocumented change to Storage Settings in Experimental build 26300.8289: the change volume size dialog now lets you switch between MB and GB units, previously it would only show sizes and let you enter sizes in MB.

Windows 11 is getting a new accessibility feature: Screen Tint! Hidden in build 26300.8289, it has six preset tint colours (but you can set a custom one too), each with a brief description of what it's most helpful for, and a strength slider.

What timing! Build 26300.8289 FINALLY replaces the spinning dots on the login screen and shutdown/restart/etc. screens with the newer spinning animation seen on the boot screen. 🥳

Alongside the upcoming agenda view, Windows 11's Notification Center will soon let you choose whether you want to show/hide the focus session UI at the bottom. As of 26300.8276 (with the bits enabled), it is hidden by default, presumably to make way for said agenda view.

Today on "undocumented stuff in WIP": recent Dev/Beta builds added a bunch of touchpad options to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad! New: automatic scrolling at edge, accelerated scrolling, sliders for scroll and zoom speed, and single-finger scrolling.

First look at changes coming to Windows 11's pause updates option! The button/dropdown menu are being replaced with a button for a calendar view, which lets you choose a specific date to pause until (instead of 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. and having to manually resume early).

It would be nice if an icon was added to "Troubleshoot sound problems" in the systray volume icon's context menu. "Diagnose network problems" got one in 24H2, would be cool for the consistency even if not super significant lol

If you're wondering, yes, the modernised Developer Mode confirmation dialog in Settings mentioned in 28020.1803's blog post is already in all other Insider paths (except 295xx) and retail with KB5079391 or newer (.8116+) installed, it just wasn't mentioned in their release notes.

Paint 11.2601.421.0 (for Insiders) adds an option to put a watermark on AI slop- I mean AI generated images. Off by default with options to always add one, or ask you every time you save AI generated images.

Latest Notepad app update for Insiders (11.2512.28.0) removes Copilot branding from the write/rewrite/summarize tools. They're now simply called "Writing Tools" and the icon is now a sparkly pen.
