It comes from a spirit that cannot be contained, a heart that expands beyond the bounds of mundane life. And that's why I write, to slip those bounds myself, so I'm prone to putting it in my characters. Yes, the Aven Cycle is *full* of yearning. Sempronius and Latona yearn, desperately, so much. You can practically hear the tortured string music around them in some scenes. I love it, star-cross'd torment. There's nothing maudlin about it, nothing wistful or longing. Mostly they're pissed off about it. 😂 [contains quote post or other embedded content]03 Oct 2026 00:29 +0000at://did:plc:oblhhokkdgkxezouo7k7jrjw/app.bsky.feed.post/3mwwmyt5kjc2chttps://bsky.app/profile/cassmorriswrites.com/post/3mwwlzgzfys2c#QueerWritersChat Intro: I'm Cass! Currently halfway through a final pre-querying round of revisions on the book that would've been a romantasy if I hadn't fucked it up by giving it anxiety, I mean politics. You're gonna hurt your trapezius and levator scapulae sitting like that. Ask me how I know. 😅 [contains quote post or other embedded content]02 Oct 2026 19:52 +0000at://did:plc:oblhhokkdgkxezouo7k7jrjw/app.bsky.feed.post/3mww5jl452k2chttps://bsky.app/profile/cassmorriswrites.com/post/3mww23ojeok2cOur camp has a "no gun imagery" policy which I 99% agree with, and the 1% disagreement is that I am not allowed to use these as a hot day hydration technique. We have other hydraulic toys. But they're not the same. I could try to come up with a more sophisticated answer, but that's the core of it. I like playing with language. I like coming up with worlds & characters & playing out scenarios in my head. And I've developed the right skillset. I've been working on this for two years, and I think it's finally achieved the right shape. I'm super-excited to finish polishing! I'm Cass, a chaotic bi disaster with a day job working for a company that produces mythology-themed summer camps; yes, you're jealous. My goal for the month is to finish revisions, polish the query letter, and gods willing, fling myself into the query trenches. I didn't want *that* to be any part of the power dynamics in this fraught enemies-to-lovers romance that is very much all about power dynamics.01 Oct 2026 21:50 +0000at://did:plc:oblhhokkdgkxezouo7k7jrjw/app.bsky.feed.post/3mwttnjghjk2nhttps://bsky.app/profile/cassmorriswrites.com/post/3mwtk2nfcq22wToday on Patreon: ngl, I had to dig a little to make October's tarot make sense. https://www.patreon.com/CassRMorris/posts/october-2026-ten-170948150?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link01 Oct 2026 18:58 +0000at://did:plc:oblhhokkdgkxezouo7k7jrjw/app.bsky.feed.post/3mwtk2nfcq22whttps://bsky.app/profile/cassmorriswrites.com/post/3mwt2qejzxk2j#WIPSnips Oct 1: [contains quote post or other embedded content]01 Oct 2026 14:24 +0000at://did:plc:oblhhokkdgkxezouo7k7jrjw/app.bsky.feed.post/3mwt2qejzxk2j
