The lyrics to Droplet's title screen theme were made using Vocaloid. It may seem like ancient technology today in the face of all those AI tools out there, but it's handmade nonetheless. A very time consuming process, but absolutely worth it. #gameswithoutai03 Sep 2026 20:04 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3munaoa3nyc2fhttps://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3muv5p3ig622yMy game has a few secret messages like this one! Not sure what to do with it, but will probably be a landing page for the other sites the story content was split up into. Figured I ought to do something with it since I still own the domain.02 Sep 2026 19:30 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3mukocstow222https://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3mufjuvessc2aI forgot to mention it, but a year ago yesterday was the anniversary of Droplet's final release announcement trailer. Droplet just got the single largest number of wishlists in one day ever. I'm lucky if I get maybe 1 or 2 in a day, so over 800 is practically unheard of for me.27 Aug 2026 01:39 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3mtzpopyyss2jhttps://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3mtycub4ww22kWhile going through some old stuff, I found a copy of The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, the original book. I'm now half-tempted to read it again to see how close the game is. (Spoiler: Some creative liberties were taken.) I'm going to work on releasing the beta versions of Charlotte Doyle and Zackulback: The Tail of a Cat publicly. I want to tidy them up so that they're fun to play. Fixing bugs and other QoL like a save feature. Honestly lightning in a bottle, and I'm not sure how to ever top it.14 Aug 2026 13:26 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3mt2b4clxzk2nhttps://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3msrrosqaus2cReddit comes in clutch again! A lost beta version of my Charlotte Doyle game has been rescued, now playable for the first time since 2005. It was a school project that got corrupted before the deadline. Hopefully, 21 years isn't too late to turn it in!11 Aug 2026 04:29 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3msrrosqaus2chttps://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3msmm5omxys2kSo I reached out to some talented folks on Reddit to see if the corruption could be repaired...and they got it working! This is the first time I've laid eyes on this game in 20 years. Thinking about doing an official release! It was about half-completed before it became corrupted. So I redid it from scratch a year later, which is the version you see on the website.08 Aug 2026 23:22 +0000at://did:plc:ph53xit3af77bknlss7rwu2v/app.bsky.feed.post/3msm7lxre4k2shttps://bsky.app/profile/krayfishkarl.bsky.social/post/3msm2rn3uvk2iApparently it's International Cat Day? This is a completely separate project, part of an ongoing worldbuilding series. My next game will take place in a brand new universe.
