Grateful to attend the #SHEAR2025 Annual Meeting (my first!) I'm presenting a counter-history of "contact" as experienced by Indigenous trans women along the "Western frontier." And always-forever sharing my fav history fact: Indigenous trans womanhood is at least 4,500 years older than the USA.

My review of A Short History of Trans Misogyny is out now @ucpress.bsky.social! 📖 TL;DR It is the book we've been waiting for &, as usual, JGP doesn't disappoint; however, her extreme temporal limits necessitate stating - trans misogyny was centuries in the making by the C19 https://doi.org/10.1525/phr.2025.94.3.337
