I left a comfy UX/Eng job at Google to build Quiche Browser and an indie brand around my love for the Web, minimalism, and questionable naming. https://quiche.industries 📍🇫🇷🇪🇺🛫🗼🇯🇵https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industrieshttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mw4k777vb22lIt's mind-boggling how clunky almost all 3rd-party iOS browsers are. Here's my little Quiche Browser vs Brave, Edge, Firefox, and Vivaldi... Look at how the photo jumps abruptly as the toolbar collapses and expands, everywhere but in Quiche Browser.22 Sep 2026 15:30 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mw4k777vb22lhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mvztlwbjbc2uMore experiments on iPhone Duo's outer display: A&B: Vertical toolbar + bottom or top primary toolbar. C&D: Time moved to the top, minimal toolbar (shows menu on tap), and full-width web page. D goes further by completely hiding the front camera. Apple designers might hate these. Ship or skip?21 Sep 2026 13:40 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mvztlwbjbc2uhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mvxhh43zsk27First video of Quiche Browser on iPhone Duo! It's 80% ready, and the last 20% is dozens of design questions to answer. Very curious to hear everyone's thoughts 👇20 Sep 2026 14:57 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mvxhh43zsk27https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mvi6q3i73k2hSplit-screen browsing on Quiche Browser beta for iPad just got A LOT more comfortable, thanks to the new adaptive toolbar rearranging buttons to fit neatly inside narrow windows. (DM me for invites!)14 Sep 2026 13:11 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mvi6q3i73k2hhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mvdah7mcpc2lJust submitted the next Quiche Browser update to Apple. Will hopefully be approved before iOS 27 ships on Monday, and then on to building a new customizable vertical toolbar for the iPhone Duo 📱📖12 Sep 2026 13:59 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mvdah7mcpc2lhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mup5ai3uyk2gAnother nice little byproduct of making Quiche Browser fully resizable on iOS 27: reading in landscape mode will finally become bearable! • The toolbar moves to the top. • Buttons rearrange themselves into one row. • Wide websites fully expand horizontally, without breaking their layout.04 Sep 2026 14:08 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mup5ai3uyk2ghttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mumppg7pyc26Coming later this year to Quiche Browser: • Moving the toolbar out of the way, to the top of the screen. • Top+bottom toolbar layouts, like OG Safari. Maybe like me back then, you thought everyone prefers the toolbar at the bottom nowadays? Well, not according to these angry App Store reviews!03 Sep 2026 15:00 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mumppg7pyc26https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mu5onmarwc24It sounded like a gimmick to me at first, but using iPhone apps in wide size might be my favorite feature of macOS 27 Golden Gate. And with the upcoming adaptive toolbar in Quiche Browser on iOS 27, it feels an inch closer to an actual Mac version. Even iPad keyboard shortcuts are working!28 Aug 2026 15:31 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mu5onmarwc24https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mu34a4l3g22aComing soon to Quiche Browser: adaptive toolbars! Shrink the app, and it will rearrange your large toolbar into two small ones, so that all your buttons fit on screen.27 Aug 2026 14:56 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mu34a4l3g22ahttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3msv7skuex22sFirefox, in another one of their user-hostile moves: • Disables their ad blocker on iOS by default. • While their AI features must be opted out of manually. Quiche Browser has no AI features, and blocks Google AI overviews and ads out of the box. Most people don't want any of that nonsense.12 Aug 2026 13:19 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3msv7skuex22shttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3msq7vtz7ls2wIt's my favorite time of the year: dropping everything to prepare new features for the next iOS version, which also means redesigning parts of Quiche Browser settings. I've been doing that for a while now and I love the process, but the dread of adding unnecessary complexity is always there. #iOS2710 Aug 2026 13:38 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3msq7vtz7ls2whttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3msnlwffxac2v"How dare you charge for your work which I haven't even tried? One star!"09 Aug 2026 12:35 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3msnlwffxac2vhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mrwuxii2j22rBy popular demand, plenty of new actions are now available when long-pressing the address bar in Quiche Browser. Also, the nightmare is finally over: the app no longer opens the Google app when returning to a tab with search results 🎊31 Jul 2026 11:45 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mrwuxii2j22rhttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mqrhma2hn22gMany thanks for all the lovely App Store reviews lately! Reading them was such a great morale boost while I was struggling to get these tab gestures right 🫶🙏🙇‍♂️16 Jul 2026 14:38 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mqrhma2hn22ghttps://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mqmbahw5cs22Starting today, Quiche Browser disables AI overviews in search results by default, out of the box. Compare how much space and time they waste. I love the web too much to let that nonsense bury links to real websites made by humans. Why no other browser does that is beyond me.14 Jul 2026 13:01 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mqmbahw5cs22https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mqm5eanjjs22Coming soon to Quiche Browser [contains quote post or other embedded content]14 Jul 2026 11:51 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mqm5eanjjs22https://bsky.app/profile/quiche.industries/post/3mqjougy4522xNew feature coming to Quiche Browser tomorrow. It is: • Search related • Ultra simple • Radical • A shame no other browser offers it. Free Quiche ᴘʟᴜꜱ code to whoever guesses it first!13 Jul 2026 12:26 +0000at://did:plc:ugokg732i73gnb7samcp35fo/app.bsky.feed.post/3mqjougy4522x
