He hides his face so his daughter doesn't see that the man who held her and read to her and proudly watched her dance is the same man now scraping her zip-tied little body over the concrete.

I volunteer with an elementary band. I'm sitting here watching these 11-12 year olds, who were born in a year when we had hope for their future. We had the ability to keep advancing and make these kids' lives better. Instead, they're honking on clarinets and giggling while we destroy them.

Don't let the propaganda trolls and bots ease you into doubting the truth. She was murdered.

I'm an encyclopedia kid with a knack for pattern analysis. 20 years ago, I wrote a modern-ish set epic fantasy trilogy about the downfall of a charismatic mad king's (& his oily sard puppeteers') empire. It lines up with my cyclic-reality-inspired trilogy & we're sprinting toward the end of book 2.

With the simultaneous release of Starlight and Dark Dreams and Weavers of the Light, my cosmic fantasy quartet, Sparrow's Guide to Arcane Bacra, is complete!

10 Nov 2025 20:57 +0000

I did it! Sparrow's Guide to Arcane Bacra is now my third completed series! I sent both Starlight and Dark Dreams and Weavers of the Light into the review limbos earlier, so they'll escape into the various wilds over the next couple days.

I have tangible proofs of my newest babies. Starlight and Dark Dreams and Weavers of the Light make up the second half of the Sparrow's Guide to Arcane Bacra quartet. Once I proofread and format an ebook version, I can release my third completed series into the wild.

If you are unfamiliar with these two things, I highly recommend learning about them: weaponized niceness and dominionism.

If an em dash = AI, then I've been AI since 2003. I'm advanced enough to cheat the "I am not a robot" tests. It's super easy to type an em dash when you set up replace shortcuts. I also set up replace to turn << into « and use it frequently in the Bacra books.

I found a fairy portal. Who's in?

Series finished, brain powering down. This draft will be split later into Volumes 3 and 4 of Sparrow's Guide to Arcane Bacra.

Ever feel like you're one of those ghosts who can only be seen by three people while some mad scientist uses your brain and nerves in a quest to reanimate an amalgamation of illicitly-exhumed bodies? Is one of my three mediums willing to tell Vic to go back and dig up a different shoulder?

Be careful answering your door on this Bealtaine’s Eve night, especially if the rain is lashing and the salted air is unseasonably, unreasonably cold. The veil is thin on these days and you might find yourself in the company of someone unexpected. Someone you lost. Someone who has no memory of you.

Which Freya are you today?

Some men's response to the man vs. bear debate is to wall off the land, shoot the bear, and raze the forest. Then they'll have the women all to themselves, trapped with nowhere to hide. Don't let that happen. It's time to raise your claws, sharpen your teeth, and become a bulletproof bear.

When does my paid protester cash get here? I need that penny for my swear jar.

I made a second poster and here is the first one in a little bit better light. I'm on Pacific time, but don't have time to make a third.

I made a sign.

I was at an antique store earlier and found this book. The spine says "Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin ", but the book itself is Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. The binding is old, so whoever changed the cover did it a long time ago. Wondering why gives me ideas. Must finish writing this book first...

I spent all day fighting with document formatting only to come back to... wtf?

25 Mar 2025 00:27 +0000

I spent too much of today fighting with my formatting on Sand into Glass. It got messed up when my software updated and looked terrible when I uploaded for wide distribution. Anyway I figured it out. Malora 1-5, 6, and 8 are now in wide release or in processing limbo. #7 can't join them until May.

This is from 8 years ago so the number has changed. I would draw it a little differently now (maybe some stronger language and little additions), but yeah... I was definitely being dramatic and overreacting 😐

I found out this morning that my ten year old has been befriending neighborhood crows. Good, child, build those alliances. Crows teach their children which people are friends and which deserve grudges. Stay in their favor and they will reward you with shinies and an interesting reputation.

The first 5 books of The Malora Octet have been released widely and are no longer on KU. I'm using up my free days, so Sparrow's Guide to Arcane Bacra is free for a couple days this week. Only 2 books out so far, but I'm working on book 4 to finish the series. https://www.amazon.com/Sparrows-Guide-to-Arcane-Bacra-2-book-series/dp/B0DDMCGVVT
