This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

that dovetails with something else i read recently (but of course can't remember where) about how the world looks a lot more orderly to the people at the top because it's being actively put in order by the people underneath them, and the stories people tell their bosses are even *more* orderly
