It calls for 1 nip of vodka. This evaporates when baked adding flakiness. I mix the vodka & water in put it in the freezer. I cut up the butter and shortening and also put it in the freezer. Wait about 5-10 minutes, then follow the recipe. Chill dough 1 hr before rolling, or overnight. Good luck!
