I had my appointment yesterday at the National Neurology Hospital. It turns out that I have a rare and incurable mitochondrial genetic disease called MELAS (mitochondrial encephalopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes). This explains a whole heap of my health problems, though not all.
