After accidentally encountering it while doing routine practice, I figured out you can do the following in Mega Man X7:
Load a save at Crimson Palace
Beat Red and all eight refights
Quit to menu from pause screen
Start a new game, beat the intro boss
This will wrong warp you to the final boss.
