涙腺が崩壊したら涙は出なくなると思うんだけど。
涙が出過ぎる意味で使われるのは、涙腺が涙の発生源でなく、量をコントロールする水門みたいなイメージなのかな。
「腺」が「栓」と混同されて、涙が出ないように抑える装置と思われたかも。
