I tried for 1.5 years to use my iPad as laptop replacement, but for this trip I just grabbed a 6+ years old Thinkpad X1 Carbon, and I have to say: It is really nice to have a regular OS again etc.
The battery life sucks, and I wish there was a good ARM Linux laptop, but for the moment, this will do
