At best, all Canada could hope for, should it choose to abandon F-35/ FA-18 SH, is to join Tempest, or some other euro 6-gen aircraft. I could write a paper (oh, wait, I did... in highschool) on why the Avro Arrow was, despite being an awesome achievement, a bad idea from the get go.
