Ignoring Obi-Wan and the sequels, I don't think she even gets brought into the ideas of light/dark side ever.
She's a snappy, resolute diplomat and could've possibly done at least a couple unwitting Jedi mind tricks on bureaucrats to help Alderaan survive that long.
