This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

Also I'm starting to think the "sans io" pattern is overrated, if you have a good wire abstraction.
At least for postcard-rpc, you can just route comms through a channel, which makes it pretty easy to test
Mock your server, mock your clients, do snapshot tests, whatever. Don't lose async abilities
