Saw BILLY LIAR again this weekend. A wonderful film that resonates differently each time. Billy's retreat into fantasies of Empire as the city is pulled down around him is a piercing metaphor that I somehow completely missed as a younger man, buoyed along on Tom Courtenay's considerable charm.
