Hackberry nipplegall makers (Hemiptera: Carsidaridae: Pachypsylla celtidismamma) do exactly what their name suggests. They lay eggs on the undersides of emerging hackberry leaves. When the nymphs hatch and begin to feed, the leaves grow galls around them. Palmyra Michigan, 27 Jul 2010.
