A letter from OAI researchers warns their firings:
—discourage others from raising safety concerns, disagreeing internally and working with outside orgs;
—‘may be used to justify’ limiting external auditors’ access (incl METR); and
—leave ‘everyone…guessing where the line is’ due to lack of clarity.
