This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

Agreed it's a challenge to figure out. I don't know how the old school newspaper critics did it. (Maybe the system needs faces and colors like those buttons in public bathrooms...)
