This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

IWBTG development made me real bias toward one-off-ism that I remember, when offered to do stage stuff for a few old indie games, I was like "Wait, what do you mean I can't do X???"
IWBTG is on the extreme end, but I feel like one-offs in design are so important to make a game feel less static.
