The NIT is giving free bids to the best non-tourney teams in the top 12 leagues and these are the leagues in the hunt. Incredibly, the Big West has never finished in the top 12. UC Irvine or UC San Diego would benefit, but they owe thanks to Cal Poly and CSUN who have also over-performed this season
