This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

This was fixed to work like it always was meant to.
Storing the preferences on the PDS was actually a "hack" we put in place to avoid storing user data in *our* appview.
Because of that hack, third party appviews were not able to receive pref calls. This is what this change is about.
