This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

The Mike Rockwell demo makes it pretty clear: Apple views the iPhone + Siri AI as an AI device. Some Star Trek communicator vibes... with a screen, of course. Nice UI.
