A hen doesn't produce more than one egg per day. Breeds that are considered "good layers" lay between 230-300 eggs per year. They moult every year and don't lay during moult. (30 days). During the winter, short daylight hrs, they often stop laying entirely. They lose fertility after 2 or 3 yrs.
