I'm from a similar era (15 in 1980). I gave into the zeitgeist and lied to everyone (even myself) about my love of prog through the 80's in a vain attempt to be cool. Eventually though the cognitive dissonance became too much and I decided to express my love of prog and just let people deal with it.
