I read up a bit on the AT protocol and I think it has some serious flaws when it comes to achieving decentralization: https://elk.zone/fosstodon.org/@nilesh/113445987952183384 The first flaw I noticed is that it makes no attempt to standardize the data formats for user content and leaves it to the apps.
