I signed up in 2021 due to disability & divorce, cashed in her 401(k) in 2023 to buy this house, and had to repay over $8K in April '24.
Then, I got SSDI & Medicare last fall, and had to repay $7200 with my taxes this April.
Actual medical expenses would have been under $5K total for both years.
