This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting to change...if your state is the source of truth you need to sync it with the url in some way...but that has a problem: it can get out of sync and it's difficult to juggle. If your source of truth is the url you just need to derive and navigate. Much easier 😁
