This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

It's accurate but one big reason is that players didn't switch teams nearly as much in the past (esp. before free agency etc)
And I think it's more prevalent in the NBA because individual players matter more than in the NFL or MLB
