And that's what I did!
I installed a recent LTS Mint distro on my Thinkpad T460.
And thinking back, I think my printer issue was after I had a go at installing Linux Lite on a v old ThinkPad X61s - I'm going to wipe it and see if it can handle a light Mint or Ubuntu distro.
