In a move that would make any corporate rescue film blush, BT has agreed to pay £400 m to take on TalkTalk’s wholesale and consumer businesses – and a whole lot of job‑seeking talent. The deal, struck on a debt‑free basis, should keep 900 workers out of the unemployment queue.
