April 30 1998, Bomberman Hero debuted on the N64 in Japan!
In a GDRI interview, we learned from Super Bonk director Shoichi Yoshikawa that Hero started development as Ultra Genjin, a 3D version of Bonk/PC Genjin!
This partially explains the games more linear design and lack of multiplayer!
