Whereas, like, with this paper, the forced budgets and appending "wait", and the small SFT dataset, feels like the kind of hack I would try?
And the results in this paper seem fundamental and to exhibit scaling properties, so I would now suspect o1/o3 are a lot closer to this approach maybe?
