Lovely little hike on Black Friday on a short bit of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. This route traverses well-drained, sandy soils atop Laurel Ridge, which support laurels of all sorts (hence the name). Pleistocene weathering of the Pottsville Conglomerate created rock gardens near the summit.
